Jean-Guy Desjardins, C.M., L.Sc. Comm., CFA
Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer
After working as a financial analyst and portfolio manager for a life insurance company, Mr. Desjardins co-founded TAL Global Asset Management in 1972 and was its principal shareholder until its purchase by a financial institution in 2001.
Mr. Desjardins is a member of the Board of Directors of the Société de Services Financiers Fonds FMOQ, HEC Montréal, DJM Capital Inc., and Centria Inc. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Fiera Properties Limited.
Mr. Desjardins supports a variety of community and social programs, in particular as a member of the Council of Governors of Centraide of Greater Montréal. He also sits on the Investment Committee of the Canadian Centre for Architecture and on the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal.
Mr. Desjardins graduated from Collège Mont-Saint-Louis in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts. In 1969, he earned his L.Sc.Comm. (Finance) from HEC Montréal. Mr. Desjardins is also a CFA Charterholder. He was appointed to the Order of Canada in December 2014 and, in 2015, received the CFA Institute Award for Excellence, the highest and most prestigious distinction bestowed by the CFA Institute.
John Valentini, CPA
Executive Vice President, Global Chief Financial Officer and President of the Private Alternative Investments Division
Mr. Valentini has over 16 years of experience as a senior executive in managing both public and private organizations, including in the area of investment management. Prior to joining Fiera Capital Corporation, he held the positions of Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at PSP Investment Inc., Chief Financial Officer at BCE Emergis and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Cognicase Inc., as well as senior positions in Corporate Finance at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Caisse de depot and placement du Quebec and Ernst & Young.
Mr. Valentini holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Great Distinction) and Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University, and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He also holds the following professional designations: Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Business Valuator and Accredited Senior Appraiser. He is also a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
Senior Vice President, Strategic Development
Prior to joining Fiera Capital Inc., Peter founded a US-based registered investment adviser, managing global balanced, equity and fixed income investment portfolios for high net worth clients and corporations in the US and Hong Kong.
Peter’s earlier experience includes working at TAL Investment Counsel as Managing Director of the Hong Kong office and prior to that as Vice President for Institutional Sales and Marketing in Vancouver, British Columbia.
From 1982 to 1992, Peter worked in New York City as a Senior Vice President for Dean Witter Reynolds and Lehman Brothers in Institutional Equity Sales. In 1978, he began his career as an Account Executive with A.E. Ames & Co in Toronto.
In the past Peter has been a guest on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street”, “Street Signs” and “The Closing Bell”. He has also taught regular investment management courses to senior executives for one of China’s largest banks in Shanghai.
Peter served nine years on the Board of Trustees of a not-for-profit rural New England health care facility, three as President. He graduated with a degree in History and Politics from Trent University, Ontario in 1977.

Executive Vice President, Business Development, Fiera Capital Inc. Chairman, Fiera Europe
Previously, Rick led the successful launch and start-up of AGF Investments America Inc. headquartered in Boston MA. As Managing Director and Global Head of Sales he also led U.S. distribution including growth in global markets in Asia and EMEA. Over the course of his 30+ year business career, Rick has led a 3rd party multi-manager investment platform, provided fiduciary oversight to corporate pension plans and gained experience in corporate development, business operations, compliance, human resources, and institutional and private client management.
Rick is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario (Bachelor of Arts) and an MBA graduate from McMaster University. He has also completed the Ivey School of Business Executive Development Program in Marketing and in 2005 was awarded the prestigious Chartered Director (C. Dir) designation through McMaster University’s Directors College. He has also served as a Lecturer at the Wilfrid Laurier University School of Business. In 2010, Rick completed the Global Studies in Investment Strategies and Portfolio Management course at the University of Pennsylvania-Wharton School.
Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer
Mr. Archambault brings over 32 years of human resources experience, including close to 20 years in the financial services industry. Before joining Fiera Capital, Guy was Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Talent Management at PSP Investments from 2005 to 2016. From 1998 to 2005, he led Human Resources for Talvest Fund Management and for TAL Global Asset Management. Between 1985 and 1998, Mr. Archambault held roles of increasing responsibilities in human resources with some of Canada’s largest manufacturing firms.
Mr. Archambault graduated from HEC Montreal with a Bachelor in Business Administration, with a major in Human Resources Management. He holds the Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP) from the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines et en relations industrielles du Québec.
François Bourdon, FCIA, FSA, CFA, PRM
Global Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Bourdon has 21 years of industry experience and has been with the firm since its inception. Over the course of his career, he has held various positions including Associate Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Manager - Quantitative Research, Director - Sales Strategies and Product Development as well as a consultant with leading Canadian investment management and life insurance organizations.
Mr. Bourdon graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Mathematics (BMath) with a major in Actuarial Sciences. He later became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA). He also obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Professional Risk Manager (PRM) designations.
Violaine Des Roches
Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs and Compliance
Ms. Des Roches benefits from 31 years of experience in the investment management industry and has been with the firm since 2006. Prior experiences include positions as Vice President Legal Affairs and Compliance, Corporate Secretary as well as Legal Advisor at leading Canadian investment firms.
Ms. Des Roches graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor in Arts (BA). She later completed a Bachelor in Civil Law (BCL) from McGill University and was admitted to the Québec Bar in 1986.
Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations
Before joining Fiera Capital in March 2016, Mr. Richard spent two years working in Houston, Texas, where he served as Director of External Communications for a worldwide technology and engineering firm. Prior to moving to the United States, he led the communications department of a French-based industrial gas producer. He also spent more than 10 years working for Canada’s largest retail hardware chains in roles of increasing responsibility, culminating with Director of Corporate Communications, a position in which he oversaw both internal and external activities.
Mr. Richard has served on the board of directors of several non-profit organizations, in order to help youth pursue an education or learn a trade. He was also the general manager of a major Canadian charitable foundation.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Université du Québec à Montréal.
David Stréliski, M.SC., CFA
Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer
David has over 20 years of experience in the fields of risk and performance management and financial modelling, in the service of large financial institutions and consulting firms in Montreal, Ottawa and Switzerland. Prior to joining Fiera Capital Corporation, he was Vice-president, Performance and valuation at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.
David received his CFA designation in 1999 and holds both a master’s degree in applied economics and a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from HEC Montréal. He has been involved with PRMIA (Professional Risk Managers’ International Association) since 2002. He currently holds the position of regional co-director for the Montreal chapter and sat on the Global Board of Directors from 2002 to 2010. He joined the Board of Directors of HEC Montréal’s Alumni Association in 2014.
