Executive Vice President, Business Development, Fiera Capital Inc. Chairman, Fiera Europe

Rick leads global growth initiatives, sales, and business development for Fiera's U.S. and non North-American investment management business. In Jan 2017 Rick was appointed Chairman, Fiera Europe following Fiera’s acquisition of London based Charlemagne Capital - an Emerging and Frontier equity markets specialist. In addition Rick serves as advisory member to Fiera's Private Alternative Investments business which includes Infrastructure, Real Estate, Private Equity, Direct Lending, and Agriculture.

Previously, Rick led the successful launch and start-up of AGF Investments America Inc. headquartered in Boston MA. As Managing Director and Global Head of Sales he also led U.S. distribution including growth in global markets in Asia and EMEA. Over the course of his 30+ year business career, Rick has led a 3rd party multi-manager investment platform, provided fiduciary oversight to corporate pension plans and gained experience in corporate development, business operations, compliance, human resources, and institutional and private client management.

Rick is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario (Bachelor of Arts) and an MBA graduate from McMaster University. He has also completed the Ivey School of Business Executive Development Program in Marketing and in 2005 was awarded the prestigious Chartered Director (C. Dir) designation through McMaster University’s Directors College. He has also served as a Lecturer at the Wilfrid Laurier University School of Business. In 2010, Rick completed the Global Studies in Investment Strategies and Portfolio Management course at the University of Pennsylvania-Wharton School.

Mark Harrell, CIMAMark Harrell, CIMA

Senior Vice President, Head of Financial Intermediary

Mark has over 29 years of experience in the investment business. He joined Apex in 2007, and was a Principal and Director of Marketing.

Apex Capital Management was founded in 1987 with a singular focus on growth investing and was employee-owned prior to its acquisition by Fiera Capital. Before joining Apex in 2007, Mark was a Managing Director at Dreman Value Management L.L.C. Mark spent 6 years as a National Sales Manager for ING Investment Management. He began his career at Nuveen Investments in 1987 and held the positions of Regional Director of Sales, Marketing and Client Services and National Sales Manager.

Mark is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) and a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA). He holds an Alternative Investment Certification through the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania as well as his NASD Series 6, 7, 24, 63 and 65 licenses. He has a BS in Business Administration from the University of Dayton.

Nicholas O. MavroNicholas O. Mavro

Senior Vice President, Head of U.S. Institutional

Nick is the Head of the U.S. Institutional Markets team, where he is responsible for leading all aspects of business development, consultant relations and relationship management efforts within the U.S. market. He continues to maintain primary responsibility for key strategic client and consultant relationships for the firm.

Prior to joining Fiera Capital Inc. in 2012, Nick spent over 12 years at State Street Global Advisors (“SSGA”) serving in many roles of increasing responsibility in the Institutional Group.  Most recently he was a Senior Consultant Liaison working with many of the most sophisticated investment consultant firms for nearly 9 years.  Prior to this role, Nick was on the Public Fund sales team.

Before joining SSGA, Nick was Senior Environmental Engineer at Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation where he worked for nearly 7 years.

Nick earned a BS in Civil Environmental Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1994 and went on to earn his MBA from Babson College in 2001.

Nelly C. XavierNelly C. Xavier

Senior Vice President, Head of Advisors and Family Offices

Nelly leads the firm’s business development and relationship management efforts for Advisors and Family Office clients.

Nelly has 16 years of experience in the investment management industry.  Nelly was a Marketing Director at Samson Capital Advisors LLC prior to its acquisition by Fiera Capital in 2015.  She joined Samson in 2005 and was responsible for developing and maintaining private client and advisor relationships, as well as developing Samson’s strategic marketing plan.

Prior to joining Samson, Nelly was a member of Evergreen Investments’ institutional marketing group, where her responsibilities included developing marketing processes and maintaining product positioning across all distribution channels for fixed income strategies. Nelly began her career as an Investment Management Analyst for Smith Barney’s Consulting Group, where she was responsible for investment manager due diligence and the analytical and technical support for new business development.

Nelly is a board member for Up Academy Charter School of Boston and Up Academy Charter School of Dorchester.

She graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Thomas M. ClancyThomas M. Clancy

Senior Vice President, Institutional Markets

Tom is a member of the Institutional Markets team where he has primary responsibility for the coverage of U.S. based consulting firms as well as direct plan sponsor sales.

Previously, Tom was a SVP with Mackenzie Investments institutional team responsible for leading the firm’s consultant relations program as well working directly with institutional plan sponsors.  Tom also spent five years with AGF Investments America, most recently leading the firm’s U.S. institutional distribution efforts.  Tom began his career in the investment management industry with State Street Corporation, spending more than ten years in the Global Markets (global trading) and Global Advisors (asset management) divisions.

Tom earned a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Framingham State University and his MBA from the D’Amore-McKim School of Management at Northeastern University.

Senior Vice President and Portfolio Specialist, Hedge Fund and Seeding Strategies

Richard brings over 30 years of investment industry experience to Fiera Capital.

Previously, Richard was Chief Marketing Officer for Eachwin Capital and Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer of Ardsley Partners, one of the oldest hedge funds in the US. Prior to Ardsley Partners, Richard was the Managing Partner of Atheneum Capital LLC, a firm he founded in 2005. Formerly, Richard was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, where he served in the Institutional Equity Division and in Firm Management. He was Head of Equities for Morgan Stanley Canada from 1998 – 2002, where he was instrumental in building the firm’s Canadian equity research, sales and trading businesses. Richard previously was Vice President at the Union Bank of Switzerland and a Credit Analyst at the Federal Business Development Bank, a division of the Bank of Canada. He is past president of the Rowayton Civic Association. Richard is an Advisory Director of the Family Office Association and  Defentect, Inc., and is a member of the Financial Executives Alliance. Richard earned his BA in Economics and Political Science at the University of Western Ontario in 1979 and Accounting at the University of Calgary in 1987.

Kurt GrahamKurt Graham

Kurt has 17 years of experience in the investment business. He joined Apex in 2009 as a Regional Director of Business Development.

Prior to joining Apex, Kurt was a Vice President at Lazard Asset Management LLC. Before Lazard, he was an Assistant Vice President at Gannett Welsh & Kotler LLC, working with consultants in the Western United States. Kurt began his career at Putnam Investments in 2000, where he worked with mutual funds, separately managed accounts and private equity and in 2002 was selected to be part of Putnam Private Asset Management.

Kurt has a BS in Mathematics and Physics from SUNY College at Cortland.

Chirag has over 14 years of experience in the investment industry.

Prior to joining Apex, he was Vice President at Kotak Mahindra Group for 11 years and in the asset management business in New York for 6 years.  Prior to that, he was part of the Private Banking business in Mumbai, India. He began his career as an insurance agent before joining a boutique investment advisor.  Chirag is a Chartered Financial Analyst, has a M.B.A from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management studies (JBIMS), and an undergraduate degree in Commerce from Mumbai University as well as his NASD Series 7 and 63 licenses.

James Bolante, CFA, CAIAJames Bolante, CFA, CAIA

Vice President, Client Portfolio Specialist, Institutional Markets

Jim is a member of the Fiera Capital Inc. Institutional Markets team where he serves as the primary liaison for several global institutional client and consultant relationships. He is focused on the team’s business development, consultant relations, and relationship management efforts.

Previously, Jim was an Assistant Vice President on the Fiera Capital institutional business development team. In this role, he was responsible for cultivating new business opportunities and maintaining thoughtful relationships across the entire institutional distribution channel. Prior to joining Fiera, Jim was a member of the institutional sales and marketing teams at GW&K Investment Management and The Boston Company Asset Management, LLC.

Jim received a BA in Economics from Boston University and an MBA from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations and holds the Series 7 and 63 licenses with FINRA. He is a member of the CFA Society Boston, CFA Institute, and the CAIA Association.

 

Riley FitzGeraldRiley FitzGerald

Vice President, Business Development, RIA and Family Offices

Riley is a member of the Advisors and Family Offices team, where he is primarily responsible for business development and relationship management efforts for Advisors and Family Office clients in the Western region of the US.

Prior to joining Fiera Capital, Riley spent nearly 10 years at The Permal Group where he served in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility in the US Institutional Group. Most recently he held the title of Senior Vice President at EnTrustPermal working with a variety of sophisticated investment consulting firms, as well as large US pensions, insurance companies, and endowment and foundation clients.

Riley earned his BS in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from SUNY Geneseo.
